Connections

Q. Why attend a connection group? I already go to church.
A. Bethel is a large church and we don't want you to become just another face in the crowd. Connection groups are a place where you can make friends and grow spiritually. You can get answers to questions and explore Biblical truths more deeply and personally. Connection groups also provide a place of support and encouragement as we experience life.

Q. Are all connection groups the same?
A. Short answer. NO. There are groups divided by age and gender. Some groups focus on a specific need in people's lives. We also have several general groups that are open to everyone. All groups are free to study a curriculum that best meets their needs. Some groups go more deeply into the previous weeks Sunday morning message, some study a book of the Bible or an interesting book and others study a topic such as marriage, dating, parenting, faith, etc. The basic core of the connection group is studying Biblical principles, sharing each others lives, supporting one another and serving the needs of those outside our group.

Q. Do connection groups provide child care?
A. A nursery is provided for our connection groups that meet on Sunday evening at 5pm. You can drop your child (ages 2 and under) off at the church nursery. Other groups will include their children.

Q. What if I haven't been to Bethel, can I still go to a connection group?
A. Absolutely! Your church history has nothing to do with your attending a connection group. We won't check your church ID at the door and you won't be charged a fee for admission! Connection groups are open to everyone.

Q. Do I need to bring anything to the connection group?
A. We recommend you bring a Bible, a pen or pencil and something to write on. However, these are not requirements.

Q. Do I have to pray out loud at connection group meetings?
A. No. This is your choice. We know this can be intimidating, especially if you're new to the group. Typically, when a connection group prays they will be led by the connection group leader or another person that is comfortable praying in front of a group.

RSS Feeds

Q. What is RSS? (Really Simple Syndication)
A. RSS allows you to stay up to date on your favorite websites without having to visit each website separately to see their newest stories or posts. RSS lets you read them all in a single application.

Q. How do I use RSS?
A. You will need to install something called an RSS reader. RSS readers are applications or programs that display the information from RSS feeds on your computer screen.

Q. How do I get a News Reader?
A. There are different news readers available for your use and many of them are free to install on your computer. Google and Yahoo are popular sites with free news readers.

Q. How do I sign up for Bethel's RSS feeds?
A. When you see the orange RSS Feed Icon RSS Feed, you can put it's link in your RSS News Reader. You can do this by simply "right-clicking" the RSS Icon and copying the link. You will then be able to paste the link into your News Reader.

Visitor

Q. Where do I park?
A. The best parking is in the east parking lot in front of the church. You can also park on either the north side or south side of the main building. Our main entrance is on the south side of the building, however, we also have an entrance on the north side.

Q. I parked, now what?
A. If you're coming for Sunday Morning Bible Study you can enter through the south entrance. One of our greeters will guide you from there. If you're coming for the main service you can enter through either entrance. Our welcome center is located by main entrance. This is a great place to start your visit by getting a cup of coffee or hot chocolate as well as any informational brochures and programs for the service.

Q. I have kids, what about them?
A. You're in luck! We have an awesome children's ministry. When you get here, go to the south entrance area. If you enter in the north entrance just walk through the auditorium to the south foyer and entrance area. Children in Pre-K to 4th grade will go to our children's church (226 kidStation) in our gym, aka "The Nest". A greeter will walk you there. We also have a children's church for 5th to 7th graders (Fusion) which is upstairs in our youth room, aka "The Attic". One of our greeters can walk you there. Teens go to our main service.

Q. What about babies and toddlers?
A. We have it covered! Our nursery is by the north entrance and our toddler nursery, aka Jam Street, is by the welcome center at our south entrance. Any of our greeters will be happy to help you find your way.

Q. What should I wear?
A. We're mostly casual. If you wear slacks or jeans you'll fit right in. Some ladies wear dresses and a few men even wear suits. Pastor Mike wears a suit, but he says he looks good in a suit.

Q. What should I bring?
A. You can bring a Bible but it's not required. We'll show the scripture on our big screen so you can follow along. Bring a pen and paper if you want to take notes. Don't have a pen? Let us know and we'll give you one, free of charge!
