It goes without saying that I celebrated Sunday night. I cheered every first down; I jumped with joy at each touchdown. When we finally won the game, I ran around the room and even danced (if you can call what I do dancing). Then I just quietly sat in unbelief and yes my eyes got moist and let the moment soak in. All of this was part of my celebration.
As great as the Saints Super Bowl victory was, I have a lot more to celebrate as a believer. I celebrate forgiveness, freedom from bondage, the faithfulness and goodness of God. When I think of all that God has done for me, sometimes I just want to clap and shout. Then there are times I just bow my head and weep. All of these are celebrations. Shouldn’t our worship be a celebration of what God has done for us? May we all take time and do some celebrating, remembering what we have experienced from the Lord.
